This is the minimum recommended specification. This application may run on machines of lower specification as it does not contain sound or video however performance cannot be guaranteed. The application runs in a fixed size window.

The application is distributed on one 3½" disc. All files are copied to the hard disc during installation. An uninstall option is created to allow the application to be removed when no longer required.

DESCRIPTION

Originally developed to help my son with his maths a second version was recently developed. Version 1 can be downloaded by selecting the link below.

The first screen displayed allows the user to select one of three options:

• Start - starts the application
• Instructions - displays basic instructions and allows the user to select either start or exit
• Exit - ends the application by showing a brief message and returns to the desktop.

When the application is started it first asks the user to enter their name. Once the name has been accepted the user will be asked to enter the answer to the first question. There will be ten randomly generated questions and a count will be updated after each answer has been input to show the number of questions remaining. If an incorrect answer is entered the user will be informed and told the correct answer. When the answer to the final question is input a screen will be displayed showing the user name and their score out of ten. The options to start and exit will be shown. If start is chosen the next user is asked to enter their name.

RESULTS - in addition to displaying the final score on screen the application also writes information to a text file. For each user their name and the time they started the questions is recorded and for each question the two numbers and the answer as input are recorded. This file can be analysed in any text editor to monitor results.

Version 1.1 of the application can be downloaded as a self-extracting zip file.

• Locate the file in explorer and double click or open it to run it. The installation files will be extracted and stored on your computer.
• Locate the file setup.exe and double click or open it to install the application. Follow the on-screen instructions.
• The installation will create an icon or option on the start menu.
